Hybrid Stud
Compared to traditional studs The ESSVE Hybrid Stud revolutionizes wall construction. Offering 50% faster installation, 75% lower environmental impact, and 87% reduced physical strain for installers!
The challenge with traditional studs
Inner wall studs are typically made from wood or steel. Solid wood studs, often 2x4", are heavy and prone to warping with changes in humidity and temperature. Steel studs, while dimensionally stable, are challenging to package efficiently. And difficult to cut to size on-site.

The hybrid solution
ESSVE Hybrid Stud combines the best features of both materials. It pairs wooden flanges with a metal web, creating a unique H-profile. Delivered flat, in pre-cut lengths, the stud is folded into shape during installation. Saving space and simplifying transport. This patented design uses 50% less wood than standard wood studs and 89% less metal than steel studs.
What about the result? A stud with the dimensional stability of steel, the flexibility and workability of wood and an installation process that's faster and more efficient. When used with the ESSVE Hybrid Stud Stapler, walls can be constructed twice as fast as those built with steel studs.

3 benefits of ESSVE Hybrid Stud
- Less material: The system uses significantly less metal and wood, reducing carbon footprint by 75%.
- Time-Saving: Speeds up wall assembly by 50% when paired with the Hybrid Stud Stapler.
- Flexible: Compatible with various fastening solutions.
Tested and certified performance
The ESSVE Hybrid Stud has been rigorously tested and certified by RISE (Research Institute of Sweden). It meets the EI30 fire classification with a single layer of standard drywall, equivalent to steel stud walls, and is approved for heights up to 4 meters. The maximum for fire-rated walls in Sweden.
Current suppliers: the Hybrid Stud is commercially available through Saint-Gobain.
